Order Hub API • in-house • 2022–2025
Multi-tenant APIs for ingestion, fulfillment, and reporting.
Order volume grew faster than the original API, so the hot paths and the contracts had to be rebuilt together.
I built and maintained the REST surface for high-volume order ingestion, fulfillment updates, and tenant-scoped reporting.
List endpoints slowed down as tenants and partners increased. New integrations needed predictable, versioned contracts instead of one-off controller changes.
I refactored the hot-path queries with tighter indexes and eager-loading scoped per tenant, then split monolithic controllers into resource-oriented endpoints with consistent pagination and error shapes. Request logging and idempotency keys covered partner callbacks that retried on timeouts.
P95 list latency dropped on the busiest order views — about 40% in a seeded staging benchmark. New integrations shipped without touching unrelated modules. Support tickets for missing order status dropped after idempotent webhook handling.
Outcomes
- ~40% faster order list queries
- Cleaner integration boundaries
- Fewer missing-order tickets
