Commerce ops that have to stay fast as volume grows.
The product and the integrations under it had to be the same job, or neither would stay reliable.
I owned the order, shipping, and partner flows in a live multi-tenant platform. Nothing arrived finished, and nothing could wait for a redesign of the whole suite.
That meant treating the API, the UI, and the integrations as one system. A slow list view and a drifting Shopify sync were the same class of problem: the operator could not tell what was true.
I went through the hot paths and the failure modes that showed up in support. Slow tenant-scoped lists. Retried webhooks that double-wrote stock. Partner callbacks with no idempotency. I treated them as one list, not a backlog of unrelated tickets.
The work was query refactoring, tighter data access, and contracts partners could retry without inventing a new meaning each time. Shopify, ShipStation, and the rest stayed behind one boundary so a new screen did not invent its own language.
Order volume kept growing. The platform is still the place operators use.
